Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign their longtime pursuit Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad for a fee of €33.5 million (£28.4 million) plus €5 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 28-year-old Spanish midfielder is expected to undergo his medical with the club, followed by the player signing his contract with the club until 2028.
The 28-year-old has been a long-term target of Arsenal’s and was left out of the squad for Real Sociedad’s game against Rayo Vallecano last weekend.
