Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay and reigning world champion Argentina submitted a joint bid for the 2030 World Cup on February 7.
The South American nations are hoping to win the right to host the tournament a century after Uruguay hosted the first World Cup. The host of the 2030 World Cup will be decided at the FIFA Congress in 2024.
Morocco, Spain and Portugal, as well as Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece, are also bidding to host the 2030 World Cup.
The reigning World Cup champion is Argentina, which defeated France on penalties in the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
