World champion and Copa America winner in 2024 with the Argentina national team, winger Angel Di Maria, has extended his contract with Portuguese Primeira Liga club Benfica.
According to the club's press service in Lisbon, the 36-year-old midfielder has signed a new agreement that runs until the end of June 2025. Di Maria previously played for Benfica from 2007 to 2010 before returning in July 2023.
In the 2023/2024 season, the Argentine participated in 28 matches in the Portuguese league, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists. Additionally, the left winger scored four goals and recorded two assists in six UEFA Europa League matches. As for his market value, Transfermarkt reports that it stands at three million euros.
