Head coach of La Liga club Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti has commented on the decision of his vis-a-vis Xavier Hernandez (Xavi) in charge of Barcelona to stay in the team until the end of his contract, or until June 2025.
"Don Carlo" is quoted by online news outlet Mundo Deportivo as saying:
I think Xavi has done a good job at Barcelona. He knows the club very well and it seems to me to be the correct decision to stay.
On 22 April, the outlet reported that the 44-year-old specialist, who announced his desire to leave Barça at the end of the season-2023/2024 and make a pause in his coaching career, is ready to stay in his position until 2025. On 25 April, both the club president Joan Laporta, and the coach himself confirmed that Xavi will remain with the Blaugranas.
After 32 rounds of the season La Liga-2023/2024 Barcelona are in second place in the standings with 70 points and 11 points behind the leading Real Madrid.
