Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has been recognized as the greatest Italian coach in football history by the British magazine FourFourTwo.
FourFourTwo
Carlo Ancelotti might not be the most influential Italian coach in history, but he is certainly the most successful. A multiple Champions League winner with AC Milan and Real Madrid, the former Italy midfielder was also the first coach to pick up league titles in Europe's top five leagues – with Milan, Madrid, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Other notable coaches on the list include:
2. Giovanni Trapattoni;
3. Arrigo Sacchi;
4. Fabio Capello;
5. Vittorio Pozzo.
It’s worth noting that Ancelotti's current contract with the Madrid club runs until 2026. He has been at the helm since 2021, having previously managed Real Madrid from 2013 to 2015.
Earlier, Carlo Ancelotti surpassed Sir Alex Ferguson in terms of matches coached in the Champions League and the European Cup.
Additionally, the Italian manager is considering continuing his career in Saudi Arabia after he leaves los Blancos.
