Agent Urges Barcelona's Lamine Yamal to Follow Ronaldo's Example

Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, representing 17-year-old Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal, has recommended that the player take inspiration from 39-year-old Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jorge Mendes for Mundo Deportivo
I think Cristiano is a good example for Lamine and all the youngsters for everything he has achieved, a level that almost no one has achieved. Today he has almost 1,100 goals, he has achieved something that no one has achieved, the goal is the main objective of any team. Lamine has a good example, not only on the field, but also off the field, of how Cristiano has managed his career, who at almost 40 years old, is still competing, he is a very good example.

In November, Lamine Yamal was awarded the Golden Boy prize. In 50 matches last season, the 17-year-old winger scored seven goals and provided nine assists across all competitions.

Yamal is a graduate of Barcelona's La Masia academy and has been playing for the main team since July 2023. This season, he has played 21 matches for the Blaugrana, scoring six goals and providing 12 assists.

Yamal's contract with the Catalan club runs until the end of June 2026. The Transfermarkt website estimates the Spanish winger at 180 million euros.

Barcelona currently sit in third place in the La Liga standings, having accumulated 38 points after 19 matches.

Earlier, Italian insider Nicolo Schira reported that Lamine Yamal is close to extending his contract with the Blaugrana until 2030.

The 17-year-old winger for Barcelona and the Spanish national team has also set his next personal goal after receiving the Golden Boy award.
