According to the Dutch newspaper AD, former PSV Eredivisie coach and Dutch national team striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has agreed to join Erik ten Hag's staff at Manchester United.
Both the 47-year-old coach and the Red Devils management are interested in the deal. Van Nistelrooy sees this invitation as a good challenge in his career.
Since 2016, the Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Malaga legend has worked as a forward coach in the Eindhoven club's system, gradually moving up to the senior youth teams. In June 2022, van Nistelrooy took on the role of head coach of PSV's main team, which he left in May 2023.
On June 12, The Telegraph reported that the Manchester club could extend their contract with Dutch coach ten Hag until the end of June 2027. On May 29, the newspaper also published news that United might not participate in the 2024/2025 Europa League due to UEFA rule violations, potentially moving to the Conference League.
