George Boldock, a defender for Panathinaikos and the Greek national football team, was found dead in his home in Athens.
The 31-year-old player was born in the United Kingdom and later became a Greek citizen. Before joining Panathinaikos, Boldock was known for his time at Sheffield United.
According to media reports, Boldock's wife was unable to reach him and asked the landlord to check on him. His body was discovered in the swimming pool.
Throughout his career, Boldock also played for Oxford, Tamworth, Northampton, and Milton Keynes Dons. He earned 12 caps for the Greek national team.
