China has stormed into the Semi-Finals of the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup after beating Australia 82-64. The result isn’t that much of a surprise since Aussies are missing some of the key players. China will meet the winner of the game between Korea and the third-place team in Group B.
The game remained close till the half with China leading Australia by a solitary point. However, China turned it on in the third quarter and gained nine points against Opals. Then the Opals had no chance in the fourth where China outscored them 24-15.
For China, Xu-Han notched a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds. Siyu Wang nailed the team-high five assists. Yuan Li claimed 15 points while Sijing Huang scooped in 12 points and Liewei Yang also had the same amount of points. Meanwhile, WNBA stalwart Samantha Whitcomb put together another all-around performance once again for the Opals and clinched 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, all team-high numbers.
