Jos Verstappen, the father of reigning world champion Max Verstappen and a former Formula 1 driver, has voiced his support for New Zealand’s Liam Lawson following his move from Oracle Red Bull Racing to Racing Bulls.
On March 27, the Austrian team officially announced that 23-year-old Lawson, who failed to score any points in the first two races of the new 2025 Formula 1 season, will be replaced by driver Yuki Tsunoda starting from the next Grand Prix in Japan. Lawson will take Tsunoda’s place in the Italian RB team.
I really hope you go and do a fantastic job. He deserves to be in F1.
The Japanese Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from April 4 to April 6 at the Suzuka circuit.
On March 27, Red Bull Racing's sporting consultant Helmut Marko claimed that bringing Lawson into the Austrian team was a mistake, as the young driver struggled from day one due to increased pressure.
