On March 7, the seventh season of the Formula 1 documentary series Drive to Survive will premiere on Netflix.
The first episodes have already been made available to a select group of journalists for reviews, revealing that Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff promised Lewis Hamilton not to negotiate with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen while the British driver remains with the German team.
In one episode, Toto Wolff discusses with his wife whom to invite to replace Lewis Hamilton in 2025. They consider candidates like Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso, before moving on to Max Verstappen, with Wolff saying, "I haven't spoken to him because I promised Lewis I wouldn't talk to him but now I will."
In another episode, while discussing with press officer Bradley Lord and youth program leader Gwen Lagrue, Toto Wolff expresses disappointment that the Dutch Red Bull driver is no longer interested in moving to Mercedes: "It's so difficult with Max. There's a one percent chance that Max changes his mind."
It's worth noting that starting January 1, 2025, Lewis Hamilton will race for Ferrari. Over 11 years with Mercedes, the British driver has won seven titles in the Formula 1 series.
Max Verstappen has been with Red Bull since 2016, and during this time he has won four Formula 1 championship titles.
Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has previously commented on the possibility of Max Verstappen moving from Red Bull to Mercedes.
Additionally, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff stated that the team needs to prepare ahead of the Dutch driver's potential arrival.
