Current Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull commented on his victory in the qualifying round of the first race of the 2024 season in Bahrain.
The Dutch driver finished ahead of Charles Leclerc from Ferrari and George Russell from Mercedes respectively in the top 3 after the races.
Sky Sports quotes the Dutchman as saying:
Max Verstappen
We naturally went faster in Q1 then in Q2. To get everything right in Q3 was a little more difficult. Of course, I am very happy to be in pole position. To be honest, it was a bit unexpected but luckily the car ended up meeting our expectations in qualifying and I was more satisfied with the car.
The first race of the new Formula 1 season will take place on Saturday, March 2. The race is scheduled to start at 18:00 GMT+3. Max Verstappen has won the last three seasons of the races.
