Dutch driver Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team has received the trophy for winning the 2024 Formula 1 season during a ceremony in Rwanda.
In the past season, the Dutchman became a four-time world champion, gaining 437 points over 24 races and winning nine of them. Lando Norris from McLaren and Charles Leclerc from Ferrari received awards for second and third places in the individual standings, respectively.
With a total of 666 points, McLaren won the Constructors' Cup for the first time in 26 years, also receiving their Championship prize for the 2024 season.
Earlier, Verstappen became the highest-paid driver in Formula 1 for the season. In other news, Max announced that he would become a father for the first time.
