Current world champion and Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen may be penalized by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) following an incident during the morning session of pre-season testing in Bahrain.
According to RacingNews365, the 27-year-old Dutch driver made an inappropriate gesture at a member of the Williams Racing team during the pit lane session on the last day of the pre-season at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Recall that the Bahrain tests are taking place from February 26 to 28. Verstappen will be behind the wheel of the Austrian car for both sessions on the final day. After the morning session, Verstappen finished fourth, with Charles Leclerc from Scuderia Ferrari HP crossing the finish line first.
The new 2025 Formula 1 season will kick off on March 16 at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne with the Australian Grand Prix.
On February 27, Verstappen described the new Red Bull car for the upcoming season and noted that the car has become slightly more predictable.
