Three-time Formula One champion Dutchman Max Verstappen of the Red Bull team said in an interview with The Race that the drivers looked like clowns at the opening ceremony of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
For me you can all skip these things. It's not about the singer, it's just standing up there, you look like a clown. 99% show, and 1% sporting event. I just like to always focus on the performance side of things. I don't like all the things around it, anyway.
Recall that a 30-minute opening ceremony was held before the Las Vegas Grand Prix for the first time in the history of the organization. The pilots of all teams took turns introducing themselves to the audience, going up the elevator to a special platform.
The Las Vegas race will be held on November 18 and it is F1's return to this city after more than 20 years. Las Vegas has already hosted F1 races in 1981 and 1982.
Verstappen had previously won the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver is the reigning F1 champion and has won 17 of the last 20 rounds.
