Three-time champion of Formula 1 (2021, 2022, 2023), the Dutch driver of the Oracle Red Bull Racing team Max Verstappen entered the top 20 list of the highest-paid athletes in 2024 according to Forbes magazine.
The 26-year-old Dutchman took the seventeenth line in the list, earning a total of $ 81 million ($76 million from the contract, five million from out-of-race activities).
Note that Verstappen was four positions ahead of the 39-year-old racer, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who performs for the team Mercedes AMG Petronas. The Briton received $57 million from his team and $12 million from sponsorship contracts and advertising.
With 136 points for six stages of the season-2024 Verstappen leads in the individual drivers' standings. On May 10, Red Bull Racing consultant Helmut Marko revealed that the Dutch driver wants to continue to drive for the Red Bulls.
