Formula 1 has approved the addition of an 11th team to the championship starting from the 2026 season. This news was reported by two outlets, Racingnews365 and Formula.hu, citing their sources.
An official announcement is expected to be made soon, ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix scheduled for November 29 to December 1.
Previously, the Andretti team applied to participate in the championship, but it remains unclear under what name they will compete in Formula 1, as General Motors is set to take a more active role in the project.
In October of last year, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) approved Andretti's application, but it was subsequently rejected by Formula 1 management.
In November, it was revealed that the presentation of all Formula 1 teams for the 2025 season will be conducted jointly for the first time.
