Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko commented on the performance of McLaren's driver Lando Norris at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Norris struggled to capitalize on a grid penalty for Max Verstappen, who extended his lead in the Drivers’ Championship. Starting seven positions ahead, Norris made mistakes early in the race, including a poor first lap and giving up a position to Carlos Sainz. An unusual strategy from McLaren allowed Verstappen to overtake him, leaving Norris trailing for most of the race.
Following the event, Red Bull advisor said:
It looks very much like Piastri is the mentally stronger one and is gradually catching up with Lando over the course of this season and is even better in some areas.
Verstappen currently holds a 78-point lead. Moreover, Marko faces discussions regarding Sergio Perez's future at Red Bull, with Daniel Ricciardo and Liam Lawson as potential replacements, reflecting internal team disagreements on direction.
