British driver and seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has transferred to the Ferrari team from the German squad Mercedes, becoming the teammate of Charles Leclerc.
The Formula 1 press service officially confirmed that Hamilton's contract with Mercedes expired at midnight on January 1. Hamilton had been with Mercedes since 2013.
Several sources have previously speculated on possible dates for the seven-time Formula 1 champion's debut behind the wheel of the Ferrari car.
