Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton shared his thoughts on securing eighth place in the qualifying round for the Japanese Grand Prix. The British racer finished 0.3 seconds behind Charles Leclerc.
Making comments about his qualifying performance ahead of the Japan race, Hamilton pointed out that he had made some errors with the car's setup.
Not good enough from my side, P8 is not great. We are running higher than we'd like. I don't know if everyone is in the same boat in that respect, it’s higher than we want to be from the weekend before. Charles did a great lap.
Lewis Hamilton for Sky Sports
My performance wasn't good enough. Eighth place is not great. I had to raise the car more than I would have liked, but everyone is in the same conditions. Charles did an amazing job.
Additionally, Hamilton expressed hope for rainy weather in the upcoming race.
