Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton admitted that he dreamed of racing for the Ferrari team since childhood, inspired by Michael Schumacher's performances in his prime.
The Briton will join the Scuderia in 2025, with a salary of €50 million per year. According to him, the decision to switch teams was the most difficult in his life.
Hamilton is quoted by Crash.net as saying:
In the summer we signed, and obviously I, at that time, saw my future with Mercedes. But an opportunity came up in the New Year and I decided to take it. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make.
The racer is a seven-time world champion. He became the first in Formula 1 history to achieve 100 wins.
