The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has shared images on social media showing the concept of the Formula 1 car that will be used starting in 2026.
According to the new regulations, the cars will become smaller and lighter – both the length and width will be reduced, and the weight will be decreased by 30 kg. Introducing active aerodynamics is planned to enhance overtaking, and there will also be an option for manual control of the electric motor’s power.
The power units will also undergo upgrades, with a significantly more powerful electric component and engines that will run on eco-friendly fuel.
The current regulations for ground-effect cars will conclude in 2025. It’s worth noting that in the 2024 season, Max Verstappen from Red Bull won the Drivers’ Championship, claiming his fourth consecutive title, while the Constructors' Cup was won by the McLaren team for the first time since 1998.
