The head of the technical department of the Formula 1 team Red Bull, Adrian Newey, commented on his departure from the Austrian team, where he worked for 19 years.
During the Miami Grand Prix Newey said:
Well, Formula 1’s all-consuming. Then, I don’t know, there comes a point where, as Forrest Gump said, I’m feeling a little bit tired. And so I just felt that now was a good time to step back and take a bit of a break.
Currently, the Red Bull team is in first place in the Constructors’ Championship. After five Grand Prix races, the Austrian team has 195 points.
Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone believes that there is no place where Max Verstappen will receive the same treatment as in Red Bull.
Moreover, Red Bull mechanic Lee Stevenson announced that he is leaving the Austrian team after 18 years of service.
