The helmet of three-time Formula 1 world champion Ayrton Senna has been sold at RM Sotheby’s auction for a record-breaking $965,000.
This helmet was worn by the Brazilian during the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix. During one of the practice sessions, the driver provided first aid to Erik Comas, who had crashed and lost consciousness.
The previous record was held by Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, whose helmet was auctioned in 2023 for $352,000.
Senna tragically passed away in 1994 due to an accident at the San Marino Grand Prix.
Moreover, it has been reported that Formula 1 plans to extend its agreement to hold the Mexican Grand Prix, scheduled from October 24 to 26.
