Alpine Reserve Driver Hirakawa to Compete in Japanese Grand Prix

Reserve driver for the Formula 1 team Alpine, Ryo Hirakawa, will participate in the first free practice session of the third round of the new season in Japan.

Ryo Hirakawa
I'm very excited, I can’t wait to drive the A525 in Free Practice 1 this weekend. I’m looking back to 18 years ago to 2007, the first time I went to watch the Japanese Grand Prix, it was a different track, Fuji, but it was Formula 1 in Japan. Since then, I started my racing career and now to drive during the weekend is going to be a dream come true, I just can’t wait.

The third round of the 2025 season will take place from April 4 to 6 in Suzuka. The 31-year-old Hirakawa was a test driver for McLaren last season and has now moved to a similar position with the French team for this season.
