England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB) is going to make a decision regarding whether England should tour Australia for this year’s Ashes or not. The decision has been hanging in balance due to Australia’s harsh lockdown rules and different states having varying years. Earlier, Tim Paine, the Australian captain said that the Ashes will go on whether England’s captain Joe Root decides to come or not. The first Test is set to begin on December 8.

The board will decide whether the conditions are sufficient for the tour to go ahead and enable the selection of a squad befitting a series of this significance. We remain in regular and positive dialogue with Cricket Australia over these arrangements as the picture is constantly evolving. With health and wellbeing at the forefront, our focus is to ensure the tour can go ahead with conditions for players and management to perform at their best. We will continue talking to our players this week to share the latest information and seek feedback.
