During the match of the first round of the European Championship between Denmark and Finland, Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen fainted on the field. A medical team rushed to the field, players of both teams surrounded Eriksen, who was given heart massage by doctors. The player was taken off the field and sent in the ambulance to the nearest medical facility in Copenhagen. The match was interrupted for medical reasons.
Journalists reported that Eriksen, who was being carried off the field, showed them his thumb up as a sign that he's ok. Doctors started his heart right on the field, and Christian was unconscious for more than ten minutes.
