Canada has created history by pulling off a win against the USA’s women football squad as they beat them one-nil. The USA is the current FIFA World Cup champion and their campaign got off to a slow start when they were beaten three-nil by the Swedish team.
The glorious goal for Canada came in the 75th minute when Jessie Fleming netted the sole goal in the match. Canada clinched a bronze model during the 2016 Rio Olympics and are assured of at least a silver medal. Canada will meet Sweden in the Gold medal match. Meanwhile the USA and Australia will compete against each other for the bronze medal.
