Russian boxer Nikita Zon, the WBA Asia champion, will face IBA world champion Arlen Lopez from Cuba in the under-80 kg weight class. This match is part of the IBA Champions' Night boxing event scheduled for December 6 in Dubai, as announced by the Russian Boxing Federation.
Originally, former Russian boxer Sharabutdin Ataev was set to be Lopez's opponent, but he had to withdraw from the fight due to health issues.
Zon last stepped into the ring in November 2024, beating Odiljon Aslonov by technical knockout in the sixth round. He boasts a record of nine wins (seven by knockout) and remains unbeaten, with one fight ending in a draw.
Lopez last fought in May 2024, where he won against Marco Reyes by unanimous decision. He holds a record of three wins (two by knockout) without any losses.
