British light heavyweight boxer Anthony Yarde explained his corner's decision to throw in the towel during his fight for the WBC, WBO and IBF titles held by Russian Artur Beterbiev.
Anthony Yarde
I saw the video of Beterbiev going down and throwing a right overhand, but he still hit me and caught me. I heard the countdown and took my time. But my coach and my team love me. They said they saw something they didn't like.
We remind you that on the night of January 29th at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, Beterbiev knocked Yarde out in the eighth round, Anthony got up and was ready to continue the fight, but his coach threw in the towel.
Yarde, 31, last fought last November when he defeated Stephanie Koikov by third-round TKO. He has 23 wins (22 by knockout) and three losses.
