WBO Title Contender Sillakh: Bivol's Victory Would Have Looked Like a Robbery

Former WBO world title contender Ismail Sillakh from Ukraine shared his insights in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net regarding Artur Beterbiev's victory over Dmitry Bivol in their bout for the status of undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division.

Ismail Sillakh exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
It was a fantastic fight! I would love to see a rematch. But Artur deserved the win. He controlled the center of the ring (we’ve been taught since childhood that “whoever controls the center wins”), and he landed a lot of punches. Dmitry also performed very well, but he didn't win. If the decision had gone to Dmitry, it would have looked like a robbery.

Recall that the Bivol vs. Beterbiev fight took place in Riyadh on the night of October 13. Artur won by decision after the 12 rounds, thus becoming the undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight class. He now holds 21 victories (20 by knockout), while Bivol's record stands at 23 wins and 1 loss.
