WBO Orders Teofimo Lopez to Defend Title Against Catterall vs Barboza Winner

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has mandated that Teofimo Lopez must defend his title in the light welterweight division against the winner of the bout between Jack Catterall and Arnold Barboza.

Lopez is required to meet the Catterall vs Barboza winner within 180 days after their fight, which is scheduled for February 15 at Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England.

Lopez last stepped into the ring against Steve Claggett in June 2024, where the bout went the distance and ended in his favor by unanimous decision. His professional record includes 21 wins (13 by knockout) and one loss.
