WBC will exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes from the ratings of the organization

President of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Sulaimán announced the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from the ratings of the organization.

According to WBC rules, all boxers from Russia and Belarus will be immediately removed from the ratings. The WBC stands for peace.

Recall that the World Boxing Council ratings include Russian boxers like Artur Beterbiev, who holds the WBC bantamweight belt, Murat Gassiev, Sergei Kovalev and Alexei Papin.

The IBF, WBC and WBO light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev is scheduled to fight Anthony Yarde at the O2 Arena in London next January. It will be the fourth WBC title defense for the 37-year-old Beterbiev.
