Mauricio Sulaiman, the President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), has unveiled a special championship belt that will be contested in the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
According to Sulaiman, this belt commemorates the 50th anniversary of the legendary fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.
As a reminder, the rematch for the WBC, WBA, and WBO heavyweight titles between Usyk and Fury is scheduled to take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In May 2024, Usyk won a split decision against Fury. The Ukrainian boxer boasts a record of 22 victories (14 by knockout) with no losses, while the British champion has 34 wins (24 by knockout), one loss, and one draw.
