The World Boxing Association (WBA) has announced that French boxer Christian Mbilli is the mandatory challenger for the title held by Mexican Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
This was reported by BoxingScene.
In August, Mbilli secured a victory against Sergiy Derevyanchenko, bringing his record to 28 wins (23 by knockout) with no losses.
In his most recent fight, Alvarez defeated Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision. Canelo last fought in May 2024, where he won against Jaime Munguia by unanimous decision, bringing his record to 62 wins (39 by knockout), two losses, and two draws.
