Undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has taken the top spot in the ranking of the best boxers in the world regardless of weight class according to The Ring publication after defeating Tyson Fury.
Previously, the first position in The Ring's ranking was held by the undisputed world champion in the super bantamweight division, Japanese fighter Naoya Inoue, who has now dropped to second place. American boxer Terence Crawford is now in third place.
Usyk and Fury met in the ring in the main event of a boxing evening held on May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this bout, which went the distance, Oleksandr secured victory by a split decision and became the undisputed heavyweight champion. He now boasts 22 wins (14 by knockout) and no losses.
