WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight world champion of the world Oleksandr Usyk commented on the words of promoter Frank Warren, who represents the interests of WBC champion Tyson Fury, that their fight will not take place in 2023.
In an interview with YouTube channel Boxing King Media Usyk said:
Uncle Frank [Warren] says some sneaky things, and we have a contract that says that the fight has to take place on the 23 December. Let him vacate the title first and then take his rest. We must fight. We must do it. 23 December. See you in the ring. I love you.
Fury's last fight was against Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. In this confrontation Tyson won by split decision of judges. He has 34 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses.
Usyk last entered the ring against Daniel Dubois in August this year. This fight, which was stopped in the ninth round, ended in favor of Oleksandr by knockout. He has 21 wins (14 by knockout) without a single defeat.
