WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk talked about his motivation at this stage of his professional boxing career.
Usyk told The Ring:
I fight for legacy. Not money. Heavyweight boxing has not had this kind of fight since 1999 (when Evander Holyfield fought Lennox Lewis) and defending the championship is very important to me. I know the history. Winning that belt has been the biggest point of my whole career.
Recall, on February 17, Usyk will hold a fight against Tyson Fury for the title of undisputed world champion.
Usyk last entered the ring against Daniel Dubois in August 2023. Oleksandr won this fight by knockout in the ninth round. He has 21 wins (14 by knockout) without a single defeat.
