Undisputed World Champion Beterbiev Doesn't Consider Rematch with Bivol a Priority

Arthur Beterbiev, the reigning world champion in the light heavyweight division and a Russian boxer, stated that a potential rematch with fellow countryman Dmitry Bivol is not a top priority for him.

Beterbiev was quoted by Match TV as saying:

I don’t consider it a priority, but we’ll see how things unfold. If he had won the fight, would he have given me a rematch? I think many know the answer. Probably not. They blow things out of proportion, say nonsense, and try to imply that I need a better look.

For context, on October 12 in Saudi Arabia, Beterbiev defeated Bivol by unanimous decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112).

Beterbiev last fought in January 2024, where he won against Callum Smith by technical knockout in the seventh round. His professional record stands at 21 wins (20 by knockout) and no losses.

Bivol fought earlier in June 2024, where he scored a technical knockout victory over Malik Zinad in the sixth round. He holds a record of 23 wins (12 by knockout) and one loss.
