Australian representative Sam Goodman suffered a serious cut above his eye and will not be able to compete against the undisputed world champion in the junior featherweight category, Japan's Naoya Inoue, which was scheduled for December 24 in Tokyo, Japan.
According to ESPN, Goodman is requesting to postpone the fight to a later date, but Inoue wants to enter the ring in December if he can find a new opponent within ten days of the planned date.
Naoya Inoue last fought in September 2024, defeating TJ Doheny by technical knockout in the seventh round. He now boasts an impressive record of 28 wins (25 by knockout) with no losses.
