Interim WBO light-middleweight champion Tim Tszyu spoke out about his win over Mexican Carlos Ocampo, recalling an incident with a dog that bit him weeks before the fight.
Tim Tszyu
Errol Spence beat Ocampo in two minutes and I did it in less time. I didn’t think it would be that early because this guy (Ocampo) is a warrior. After the dog bite, I became obsessed. I feel like a pitbull.
On the night of June 18 in Broadbeach, Australia, Tszyu defeated Ocampo by first-round knockout.
Tszyu, 28, had previously been in the ring against American Tony Harrison in March 2023. In this fight, Tim won by TKO in the ninth round. He has 23 wins (17 by KO) and no defeats.
Ocampo, 27, had his last fight in October, 2022, against Sebastian Fundora. This fight ended with Fundora winning by unanimous decision. He has 35 wins (23 by knockout) and three losses.
