American boxer Teofimo Lopez, the WBO titleholder in the light welterweight division, is in talks to sign a contract for three fights with promoters from Saudi Arabia, according to The Ring.
The publication reports that Lopez could hold his first fight under this agreement this summer at the former federal prison Alcatraz. The opponent has yet to be announced.
Lopez's last fight took place in June 2024 in Miami Beach (USA) against Canadian athlete Steve Claggett.
In that bout, which went the full distance, Teofimo won by unanimous decision. His professional boxing record stands at 21 wins (13 by knockout) and one loss.
