WBC middleweight champion American Jermell Charlo was arrested by police in Texas on suspicion of assaulting a member of his family.
According to ESPN, the boxer was arrested on December 16, as it was reported that he attacked and injured his unnamed relative.
On December 18, Charlo was released on bail. It also became known that Chyane Westbrook, the wife of the boxer, has filed divorce papers with the boxer.
Recall, on November 25 in Las Vegas (USA) Charlo will hold a fight against Jose Benavidez.
33-year-old Charlo last entered the ring in June 2021, defeating Juan Macias Montiel by unanimous decision of judges. He has 32 wins (22 by knockout) and no losses on his record.
