Calvin Ford, the trainer of regular WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, was arrested by Baltimore (USA) police on December 29.
According to the Baltimore Banner, the 58-year-old Ford was arrested by local police for assault with a firearm. He is currently in custody with no right to bail. Other details of the incident have not yet been released.
Davis last entered the ring as part of a boxing night held in April this year in Las Vegas (USA). Back then, Gervonta was opposed by compatriot Ryan Garcia. In this fight, Davis won by knockout in the seventh round. He has 29 wins (27 by knockout) without a single loss on his record.
