Ryan Garcia Announces Retirement Over Corruption In Boxing

Former interim WBC lightweight world champion, American boxer Ryan Garcia published a post on social media announcing the end of his career.

Ryan Garcia on his X account
I am officially retired. There is so much corruption, I'm over it. I may do acting or singing. I'll still be training but I'm hurt and done with it and everyone. The sad part is, I'm a great boxer. And I entertain and knock people out.

Garcia, 25, last stepped into the ring in April 2024, defeating Devin Haney by majority decision. In May it became known that Ryan tested positive for ostarine, the result of his fight with Haney may be canceled. Garcia has 25 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
