Oscar De La Hoya's promotional company Golden Boy has issued a response to allegations of not paying Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney their bout fees.
Golden Boy statement
As we have always done with all our fighters, Golden Boy paid Ryan and Devin exactly what they are owed under their contracts. As with all PPV events, revenue comes in over time and additional payments will be made when more money is received. If they aren't aware of this fact, we would hope that their managers are. Or perhaps Ryan and Devin should pay more attention to their contracts than their social media feeds.
The fight between Garcia and Haney went the full distance and ended in Ryan's favor by majority decision. Garcia, 25, had his previous fight in December 2023, defeating Oscar Duarte Jurado by knockout in the eighth round. He has 25 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
The 25-year-old Haney previously stepped into the ring in December 2023, defeating Regis Prograis by unanimous decision. He has 31 wins (15 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
