Former UFC fighter and BKFC fist fighting league star Mike Perry has announced the launch of a new promotion, Dirty Boxing Championships, with the first event taking place in September or October.
Perry said at the press conference:
We're aiming at a targeted type of athlete from each of those sections. Guys who want to stand and bang and put on an exciting, entertaining show for the fans.
The bouts will take place in an 18-foot certified “dirty” ring and will last for three rounds of three minutes each, with championship fights lasting five rounds. The fights will be held under hybrid rules that incorporate classic boxing and MMA. Fighters who knock their opponent down will be allowed to use follow-up punches on the ground, but they must stay on both feet.
