UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira shared his opinion on a possible fight between the promotion's former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and WBC champion Tyson Fury.
Alex Pereira, quoted by MMAFighting
Boxing against Tyson is hard. It’s suicide. … There are other guys for him to start. If he really wants to fight those guys, then he’s just thinking about the money. I don’t know if that’s the case. But to say ‘I’m going there because I want to become champion,’ that’s hard.
Earlier, it was reported that a Ngannou vs. Derek Chisora bout was in the works.
Ngannou last fought under mixed martial arts rules against Frenchman Ciryl Gane. The fight took place last January at UFC 270. The fight lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Francis by unanimous decision of the judges. He had 17 wins and three losses under his belt.
Fury had his last fight against his countryman Derek Chisora on December, 2022. Tyson won this fight by TKO in the tenth round. He has 33 wins (24 by KO), one draw and no losses.
