Paul Bamba Dies at 35, Days After Becoming WBA Gold Champion

Puerto Rican boxer Paul Bamba, who previously held the WBA Gold title in the cruiserweight division, passed away on Friday, December 27, at the age of 35. The cause of his death has not been disclosed yet.

Bamba's last fight was against Rogelio Medina Luna on December 21 in the United States, where he won by technical knockout after his opponent refused to continue.

Notably, Bamba broke Mike Tyson's record with 14 knockouts in one year.

Bamba made his professional debut in January 2021, winning by technical knockout in the first round against Felix Alexis Cardenas. Over his career, he achieved a record of 19 wins (18 by knockout) and three losses.
