Sean Gibbons, an agent of former eight-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao, stated that the Filipino boxer will consider a potential return to the ring after the Philippine Senate elections on May 12.
Sean Gibbons for The Ring
After the May 12 election, God willing, if Manny becomes a Senator for a second term, he will decide if he wants to box again. I wish there was more, but Manny is in a very tight race and the last thing he has on his mind right now is boxing.
Pacquiao last entered the ring against Rukiya Anpo in an exhibition match in July 2024 during a Rizin league event. This match went the distance and ended in a draw.
His last professional fight took place against Cuban Yordenis Ugas in August 2021 in Las Vegas (USA), where Manny lost by unanimous decision after the fight went the distance. His record stands at 62 wins (39 by knockout), eight losses, and two draws.
